A Fashion Show of sorts

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take each kid shopping--just the two of us--for some new spring clothes. I thought it would be nice to spend some one-on-one time with each of them and to give them a say in what we buy.

I took Emily to Target. She came away with 4 outfits that can be intermixed to create others (a skill I'm trying to teach them ;-))

She's really into skirts and leggings.

Hannah chose to go to Wal-Mart. She said she wanted to go there because they have low prices. I asked her how she knew that and she said, "That's what the signs say."

I'm not very fond of that last outfit, but it's not about me (that's what I keep telling myself)...it's about what she wants, and she wants hoodies. She ran around Wal-Mart looking at the backs of the shirts to see if they had hoods. It took me a while to convice her to look at other things.

I had lots of fun teaching my girls the joys of shopping. They are such funny, interesting, intelligent little creatures in and of themselves that I forget to appreciate their idiosyncrasies when they are constantly together. I have since decided that we will make shopping a monthly habit.
