Creek Findings

Yesterday, Emily and her friend Melanie went "creeking" (that's what they call it when they play in the creek). Sometimes I hate it when she does this because she almost always comes back very, very muddy. But yesterday, she came back with this:

A seashell type of shell. Not really sure how a shell like this got in our creek in Eastgate, Ohio...but Emily cleaned it up and is keeping it in her room as a great creek finding.
Then, this morning, Hailey (one of the two girls I babysit) said, "Is that a baby deer out there? It still has its spots." Sure enough, when I looked out the window, there sat the baby deer in the creek.

At first I thought it was injured because it wasn't really moving and the girls got just a few feet from it when they went outside, but once Ray walked back there, it ran off.
Who knew such cool things could be found in our creek!

Cool- you know that this area used to be ocean right? Wonder how old that shell could be...
