Foiled plans

My last day of school was yesterday; the girls go until Friday. That gives me 2 1/2 days all to myself. I decided as a reward, I would go to Coney Island all by myself. I bought a raft, made plans to go to the library, and even recharged my MP3 player. I was ready to enjoy my day floating around a giant pool with absolutely no responsibilities.

That was until I woke up to this:



Not exactly pool weather, and this was taken around 10:00 this morning. I still went to the library, but I nixed the pool.

But, the sun did eventually make an appearance, and I jumped at the chance to get at least a little sun. I grabbed my books and my towels and made myself a little lounger with cushions on the deck.



I didn't have cool water to jump into when it got too hot, but I certainly had way more peace and quiet than had I gone to Coney.

After all was said and done, I probably got a good 3 1/2 hours of sunworshiping in before the kiddos came home from school...not to mention an entire book read! Not bad for the 1st day of summer vacation!
