After dinner bike ride

After we ate dinner I thought it might be fun to take a ride around the neighborhood with the girls (and, of course, I took my camera with me). At first, Emily was excited; she didn't want me to go slow and she couldn't wait to get started. But, literally 10 seconds into our ride, she said her legs were killing her. She asked if she could go home.

Before I answered, I turned around to find her far behind. That's the last we saw of Emily.

The ride with Hannah was very enjoyable. She did talk the ENTIRE ride (mainly about how unfair it was that she wasn't getting the air conditioning side of school next year and how she's always wanted to be a teacher). At one point, as she was going down a hill I heard her say, "Whoooo! This is awesome!" Makes me smile.
Then I just started taking pictures of things I saw as we rode (yes, I actually took these pictures as my bike was rolling along).

Hannah commented on how quiet it was back there.

After we got back, Hannah went to Maggie's to play. Emily didn't want to go because Maggie has been picking on her lately, so she and I played a little volleyball in the front yard. It was pretty hot and we were pretty sweaty so we each got a popsicle after we were done (I think we played for at least an hour with Hannah joining us at the very end).

I enjoyed playing with the girls and I promise to do more of that throughout the summer.
(Oh, after volleyball camp this morning we did go visit Jo Ann and Avery and have lunch with them, but I'll post pictures of that tomorrow!)
