"Carving" Pumpkins

This is my version of carving pumpkins:

I'm not a big fan of digging out the guts of the pumpkin. It's slimy and gross. And since Hannah and Emily cannot exactly carve their own pumpkins, all they would get to do is watch me do all the work. Not enjoyable. So, instead of wasting our money on pumpkins (like we have done every other year), I decided to let the girls paint their pumpkins however they wanted. The end result is much more enjoyable and the pumpkin lasts much longer. A win-win situation all the way around!

I like it when they get to use their own imaginations and their own creativity, and all I have to do is sit the pumpkins on the front porch. My kind of pumpkin carving!
