Today is Emily's 8th birthday and never has a child been more excited for her birthday than Emily. She started counting down probably around my birthday and has talked non-stop (and that is not an exaggeration) about getting a DSI.
So, bright and early (6:00 a.m. to be precise), Emily got up to start her day. Around 6:30, we let her open her gift and if you didn't hear her scream with delight then you are deaf. She even spun on the floor in a break-dance type move (which was caught on film--I'll share later)after opening her DSI (yes, she is spoiled).
She took pink cupcakes to school.
I hung a poster on the porch to wish her a happy birthday when she got home which she barely noticed (Hannah was extremely excited about hers...).
After karate, she chose to go "to the place where we can throw peanuts on the floor" (Texas Roadhouse). We had a nice dinner and they even made her stand on the seat while they shouted at her.
Completely exhausted from her day's activities, it was lights out at 8:00 exactly.
Life has never been the same since this little one entered my world, and I certainly wouldn't change it for anything!
Happy Birthday Emily!
